Simulation-based analysis of dynamic voltage restorer with sliding mode controller at optimal voltage for power quality enhancement in distribution system

Introduction. Nowadays, power quality issues are of considerable interest to both utilities and end users as they cause significant financial losses the industrial customers. Due this, assurance in distribution systems is very important, when considering commercial applications. Problem Statement. Unfortunately, sudden faults such sag, transients, harmonics distortion notching system create disturbances affect load voltages. Out these, voltage sag seriously sensitive devices. Harmonics increased heating equipment conductors, misfires variable speed drives, torque pulsations motors. reduction considered desirable. Methodology. This paper presents an efficient robust solution this problem by using dynamic restorer series with system. Dynamic economical effective for protecting loads from sag. Control strategy adopted topology performance proposed controller analyzed. Novelty. In research work modelling, analysis simulation proportional integral sliding-mode at optimal used improve reducing total harmonic distortion. Results. The performed MATLAB / Simulink software package comparative different controllers presented. scheme successfully reduced percentage sliding mode which found be 0.38 %.
